Save them One by One
is a mission group that travels to Nicaragua to do mission work and to show the love of Jesus Christ.
In the same way...I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents ~
Welcome to our website and please visit often for updates on what’s going on in Nicaragua as well as the needs there. We need your help and prayers and our friends in Nicaragua also need your help and prayers.
~ In response to the Great Commission...exists as an advocate for children to release from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults.
Nicaragua is one of the poorest nations in the Western Hemisphere. Despite improvements in the nation's economy and the implementation of government programs, almost half of the population lives in poverty. Ten years of civil war between 1980 and 1990 and an economic crisis that began in 1987 have caused the collapse of the country's economy. Environmental disasters such as Hurricane Mitch, which caused extensive destruction and loss of life in November 1998, have also worsened conditions for the rural poor. Because of limited employment opportunities and inadequate infrastructure such as roads, water and electricity supplies, the incomes and productivity of poor rural people remain at low levels. In 2001, only one out of five extremely poor rural households had access to electricity.
In August of 2008 Save them One by One started a Child School Sponsorship program in which people help to sponsor children who would not normally have the opportunity to attend school to receive an education. Currently we have over 500 children sponsored but there are many more children that need our help.
Going to Nicaragua has tremendously changed our lives and there is so much more work that we feel needs to be done there. We realize here in the United States we are burdened with our everyday lives and we often times think that we have “rough lives” but how many times have we ever eaten cardboard just to fill our hunger pains? Have you ever been hungry and had absolutely nothing to eat? Have you ever been thirsty and had absolutely nothing to drink? In Nicaragua people are living like this and there are many health problems due to the lack of nutritional needs. Many children roam the streets alone and naked begging for food or money.
In Matthew 22:37-39 the bible tells us to love the Lord your God will all your heart... but it also says, "A second commandment is equally important, Love your neighbor as yourself". We have to think about that. Do we really love our neighbor as ourselves? Would I do for them what I want done for me? Would I give to them as I give to my family and myself? Would you? Now we challenge you. The government requires each child to have a uniform, plus pencil and paper before stepping into a classroom. Most people in Nicaragua are so poor that they cannot afford to buy food for their families so attending school is not an option. We must give these children an opportunity. If not they will grow up just like their parents illiterate and poor. Someday, if sickness doesn’t kill them they will have a little hut just like their parents. With your help children from remote villages will be given the opportunity to receive an education. These children will be taught skills that will enable them to return home and greatly benefit their whole community. This is only possible through your help.
Can you or someone you know help to support Save them One by One and help break this poverty cycle? We need financial sponsors, expertise and partners to continue this life saving work. 100% of your donation goes directly to the Child Sponsorship Program in Nicaragua! The cost to sponsor one child is $25 once a year. This will give the child one uniform and the required school supplies to attend school and a New Testament bible.
Please keep this mission group in your prayers as well as the sweet people of Nicaragua!
